COVID-19 Policy – 5 Jan 2020

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, we have undergone an extensive risk assessment and updated many of the processes around running the studios to protect our staff, you, and all of our clients.

We have reviewed the Government’s guidelines and will remain open during the current lockdown. Under lockdown restrictions, clients are permitted to obtain services for the purposes of work or education. And as a recording studio, we can continue to operate for audio production work. We will only be offering studio-based sessions with single clients. There will be no group workshop sessions offered until Social Distancing requirements are relaxed.

For the duration of your session clients will be in a separate room from Showreel staff.

Below is a list of changes we would like you to be aware of before attending the Showreel studios.


Client Requirements

All clients who have booked a session are required to satisfy the following criteria:

  • No current Covid-19 symptoms or symptoms within the last 14 days
  • No contact with anyone with Covid-19 symptoms for at least 14 days
  • Are not in a high risk group

You will be sent a session reminder email 48 hours in advance of your booking that will require you to reply to it confirming that you satisfy these criteria. We need to receive this confirmation prior to your session.

These criteria may change as government advice changes.

Client PPE

All clients are asked to arrive wearing a single use face covering that covers your mouth and nose. The face covering does not need to be a surgical grade. Covering the mouth and nose reduces the risk of airborne and contact transmission and follows the government guidelines advising people wear masks in confined spaces.

Your face covering should be worn on the premises until you get to the vocal booth.

Please use the hand sanitiser provided whenever you feel this is necessary but particularly at the beginning and end of your session.

As we are limiting surface contact and movement around the building, please kindly bring your own water or drink as these will not be provided. There are several places to purchase very near to the building entrance.

Reduce Time Spent in the Studio and Risk of Passing Within 2 Meters

All clients are asked to arrive as close to their appointment time as possible. On arrival, please sign in at reception and ask them to call down to the studios. We will come to meet you asking you to follow us to the studios whilst maintaining 2 meters. As we have multiple rooms, to reduce the chance of crossing in the corridor, we will only collect one client at a time.

You will then be shown to the Vocal Booth whilst we go to the Control Room. You can remove your face covering once in the booth.

At the end of the session, please wear your mask and leave the vocal booth via the same route.


Showreel Staff

All Showreel staff will wear face coverings during any interactions with others whilst on the premise including collecting clients from reception. Please kindly refrain from shaking hands or other contact greetings

Studio Sanitation

All contact surfaces will be wiped down between each client booking with the advised grade sterilisation wipes and sprays. Any equipment touched by a client or Showreel staff will be wiped down following a session.

Studio Ventilation and Airborne Control

Between sessions, all studio doors will be kept open and ventilate the space. We are leaving a minimum of 30 minutes between sessions.
