With no voice over experience, I booked in to see JP.
I was full of nerves but they quickly went after chatting to JP and getting behind the mic for the first time. He really made my experience enjoyable and something I'd like to do again.
I would fully recommend!

JP’s workshops are calm, smooth-running and definitely worth it! He gives you an experience tailored to your voice, he clearly cares about each and every participant he works with. It’s a great ‘hands on’ way to learn/improve your skills. JP’s advice and guidance extends past the hours of workshop too- he gives you loads of helpful information to inform your next steps. The location is easy to get to and easy to find. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Recommend it 100%

Another fabulous workshop with The Showreel, the UK’s premier voice coaching agency for those who want to work in the voice acting field not just in the UK but internationally. This one focussed on audiobooks and was both challenging but also enormously supportive. Highly recommended.

I had a brilliant experience working with Mike at the Showreel. I needed a new voice reel after quite a while of being out of the recording booth, and he not only helped me prepare but also supported me brilliantly during the session itself. I am so pleased with my voice reel now! Thank you.

I had a wonderful time at the Intro To Voiceover Workshop with JP. He managed to make us feel at ease from the get go, taught us so much within a short time frame, it was a perfect intimate sized group of 5, and we got a lot of mic time so it was a hugely practical session. It was great doing cold reads then applying notes to a second read. Great equipment and set up. And after the Workshop to receive a personalised improvement/next steps plan in so much detail was such a bonus. Totally recommend this. JP is such a lovely warm inviting person and also kept us amused with hilarious anecdotes :)

The experience and knowledge that came from a one day introduction to VO was way beyond my expectations. JP at Showreel is an amazing tutor. The atmosphere in the recording suite was very relaxed and all students were great to work with. There were obviously nerves to contend with as standing in front of a microphone in a professional recording booth for the first time was exciting and alien, but JP had the perfect balance of direction, humour and his years of experience at hand too create the right mood. Not only that but all recordings on the day are available to download and all course work that was covered with a posistive honest critique of of your voice with guidance notes on how to improve with homework to assist you. I highly recommend the VO workshop if you have even the slightest desire to start using your voice professionally. I have already booked my next workshop for narrative VO. Great day, Great people and the perfect location.

I had such a fantastic experience with JP at The Showreel. From the moment I arrived, he was incredibly kind, welcoming, and made me feel completely at ease during my starter demo session. His expertise really stood out, and it was reassuring to know I was in such good hands with someone who has years of experience and knowledge in the industry.
JP’s professionalism, guidance, and understanding of what makes a strong demo reel made the whole experience enjoyable and valuable. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to create or improve their showreel, and I’m really looking forward to working with him again on more demo reels in the future.

They are very accommodating in scheduling sessions. You know they have done this for many years when you work with them. JP is a joy to work with and his warm humor makes you feel so at ease. I look forward to working with them for a long future in my VO career.
Thank you all at Showreel.

Had a great session with Mike yesterday. Was great hearing his insight and he also came up with a few new scripts during the session which was much appreciated. Managed to get my demos to me the evening of the day I recorded them so very quick turn around. Will be back to record more when the time comes :)

JP at The Showreel is the ultimate professional 😁 Years in the business of voice over, session singing and engineering was condensed for our benefit during yesterday's 5.5 hour session. He is funny, welcoming and thoroughly engaging. There were six of us at the workshop and JP gave us all so much support, encouragement and useful feedback, our final recordings were noticeably more confident and relaxed. I went along to support my son, who's keen to become a voice actor but learned so much myself. I hope to attend further workshops and 1:1 coaching sessions (these are also available online, brilliant for those of us who live a long way from London). Thank you The Showreel and thank you, JP, it was an eye opening and very enjoyable day 😁

I had a fantastic time when recording my Starter Voice Over Demo. I felt very welcome, and accommodated for the entire time. For someone new and keen to do a good job, I was helped every step of the way to feel comfortable and understand what we were doing.
Ultimately, I ended up enjoying my session immensely and came away not only having had a great time, but achieved a goal I’d had for a while. Hopefully this will be the first step into a career in which I get to use my voice.
I’d definitely come back to Showreel for more sessions, and recommend them to anyone else.
Thanks

I had the most amazing experience with the Showreel Team. I first heard of them as I was looking for a voice over workshop, which I attended. I absolutely loved the energy our workshop instructor JP was brining. You can clearly tell they all have a lot of knowledge and passion for this art. I proceeded to book some 1-2-1 sessions and a demo which all went absolutely perfectly. I had some lessons/talks with Mike, Craig and JP and they were all so helpful and kind. I can only recommend this amazing team to you if you are looking to start/develop your Voice over/acting journey or if you just want to see what it is/ how it works or even if you just want to get a little session in for fun as I had so much fun in all of mine. I cannot wait to go back to learn more and do more workshops and lessons. Thank you all :) - NAOMI

Over the years I’ve often been complimented on my voice with people telling me I should do something with it. Well, with the help of Mike Charters and JP Orr at The Showreel I’ve done just that. They let me explore the studio giving excellent advice and encouragement to produce a demo. I’d certainly recommend them to anyone looking to explore the world of voice overs.

I came to The Showreel studios on Friday 23rd Jan 2026 to do the intro into voice over workshop with JP and it was amazing from start to finish. JP covered so much on what to do getting into voice over and the recordings of my voice reading the scripts that he had chosen were very good. The email that you get after really helps with the feed back that he gives you on what areas you need to practise on were very helpful. Thank you so much JP for all your help so far. I would definitely recommend this company and I will 100 percent be returning.

I had a fantastic experience working with JP. From the very beginning, he was attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in understanding my goals and voice.
The session itself felt aligned, encouraging, and safe — a space where I could explore, play, and grow without pressure. JP’s feedback was incredibly detailed, personalized, and insightful, and it’s clear how seriously he takes his craft and his students’ development.
I left the session feeling energized, confident, and excited to continue practising with intention. If you’re looking for a coach who is knowledgeable, supportive, and truly invested in your progress, I highly recommend working with JP.

The showreel is simply amazing. There's literally no negatives/cons to the experience I have had even after years coming back to getting a voiceover career going (this time fully committed). JP is an incredible teacher, making you feel at ease the moment you step into the studio. His guidance and constructive, personalised feedback is so helpful, and during our 3x 1-2-1 sessions he honestly made each experience comfortable to be yourself. He's helped me enjoy that confidence needed to keep pushing forward, and has been a great support throughout the process. I've now managed to record my first demo thanks to JP and the showreel, and looking forward to experience the character workshops down the line too. Highly recommend JP and the showreel in general for anyone ready to get their foot into the voiceover world and even for those wanting to bring back the experience again. Many thanks again to you, JP, and to the showreel for helping me find and guide my voice somewhere :)

I am an actor that is brand new to voiceover and I had no idea where to begin, as well as a million questions. I had my one-to-one online workshop training with JP and it was FANTASTIC! He is so knowledgable, kind and helpful. I loved our session and I felt so much more prepared to record my first voiceover reel the following week. He also sent over a tonne of personalized feedback after our training in preparation for my recording session.
I then went into London to record my reel with Mike Charters and what a fun experience it was working with him! He was so incredibly supportive & professional & the session flew by! We recorded 3 full reels in 90 minutes & he got my reels back to me, edited & complete, the following day! I love my new reels. The entire company are fantastic.
I would recommend Mike, JP and The Showreel to anyone who is getting into voiceover for the first time, as well as long time voiceover artists looking for a reel refresh. Thank you so much JP!

I did multiple voiceover sessions with JP and Mike, as well as a demo recording, and they were not only professional, but also friendly and easy to work with! I was nervous at first to get started, but those worries soon faded with their patience, understanding and kindness. Comparing my skill at voiceover from the start of my sessions to my final demo, I improved exponentially and am much more confident behind the microphone. I highly recommend the Showreel and their Voiceover Journey package- I had a great time and hope to return in the future. Thank you JP and Mike! :)

I did my my VO workshop online with JP and it was such a good start that I decided to commit directly for the starter journey which includes 3 x 121 and a starter demo.
I enjoyed the feeling of being in a real studio with Mike once (for me it was the first time in a professional studio!).
And I wish to thank both Mike and JP also for accommodating my need to extend my VO journey certificate.
I live in Rome and come to London a couple of times a year, so it was really great to have some extra time to arrange my demo recording. Looking forward to it!

Friendly, efficient, professional and welcoming.
Is an experienced actor dipping toes in a new realm I couldn’t have asked for better. I was early so we were able to start early, and we finished ahead of time so Michael was able to get my reel finished in the same day (though I appreciate that isn’t always feasible, it was just great for me!).
When I need to return for more specific reels I look forward to working with these guys again!

I loved my experience of the Voice Over Journey! It was the perfect introduction into voiceover for me: plenty of information regarding what I could expect from my sessions and then beyond; lots of support from JP; and a practical 'just get stuck in' kind of approach. I signed up for this particular course on a recommendation from a friend who recorded their first reel with The Showreel, and is now successful with their professional voiceover work! Excited to take it further :)

This is a completely new area for me investigating the possibilities of voiceover. I have found The Showreel thoroughly professional in all my dealings with the organisation thus far. Having completed an introductory workshop and two 1 2 1 sessions, JP has given me plenty of suggestions for improvement, positive feedback and things to work on to improve my vocal delivery. I appreciate that there is lots of experience to help newcomers like myself and to get people up to a competent standard.

Intro to Voice Over Course - If you’re looking to get started in Voice Over work, this is the course for you. I don’t live locally to London, so opted to have online 1-2-1 sessions. As a complete novice, my first workshop with JP was both informative, engaging and provided my first experience of recording. JP was fantastic and made me feel completely at ease during the session. I didn’t feel like I was working with him remotely at all - the set up really worked well.
Following the session, written feedback was quickly received from JP with links to the work I had recorded to listen to and review. Prior to each further session, scripts were sent in advance to enable me to practice.
For my final session, I travelled to London to record my voice reel with JP at the studio. What a fantastic experience, and again JP made me feel at ease and helped me get to grips with the studio and process.
I now have a fabulous voice reel and the knowledge needed to begin my journey into voice over. Thank you JP.

At the end of the package you record a demi-demo. I also upgraded this to the full agent demo, which i would also recommend doing!
I have finished the whole process absolutely over the moon with my recorded demo. Also my confidence has sky rocketed. I had so much fun and I cant wait to do voice over in the future. JP and Mike are fantastic professionals!

Wow, what a day!
As a total newbie I wasn't sure how much depth the 'one day intro workshop' would contain.
My expectations were quickly exceeded. So much helpful, insightful, information about the world of voice!
JP is clearly on point with his art! Full of friendly, honest, encouraging feedback and great insider tips about the industry. JP's knowledge and experience (past and present) is vast, I've not taken that many notes since university!
Time in the booth is great, nerve wrecking fun! Plenty of practise using a variety of scripts.
JP was extremely patient with me, gave me direction and even with all the rookie mistakes I was making, JP made me feel at ease and was encouraging in his feedback/advice, which helped me stay confident to keep trying.
Looking forward to more training, workshops and keeping my "tools sharp".

I attended The Showreel studio's to do a Commercial reel. The booking process was straight forward, all available sessions and times were visible so it was easy to book a date convenient for myself. I say this because I contacted two other companies and the booking process was ridiculous.
I appreciated the contact I received soon after my booking. I received appointment reminders and directions to The Showreel building.
On the day of recording I was greeted by Mike who guided me through the recording. I appreciated his approach and he gracefully answered a couple of questions I had at the end of the session.
As a beginner in VO I can say this was a very good experience. I highly recommend The Showreel to anyone who want to do a recording anytime soon.

Well what can you say? Whatever you do say(at least in front of the microphone) you will no doubt have better knowledge and be generally more equipped in saying it after you have completed the Introduction (Foundation) to Voice Over facilitated and taught by the very charming and personable JP. Please note-I hope you have found this review of interest, if you haven't, after my new found skills and understanding I apologise, and just wish I could have left feedback vocally.
I can also strongly recommend the Home Studio Workshop, online, facilitated by the very knowledgeable Mike Charters. If you are pretty good with tech or a complete technophobe (like me) Mike will break down exactly what you need to start your own home studio set up and be ready to succeed at every level in your voice over journey.

I was slightly sceptical when I saw how many 5* ratings the Showreel had, but having worked with them for the last few months, they deserve every single one.
Having started with (and really enjoyed) the introductory group workshop, I was persuaded to upgrade to their 'Journey' package, which included 3 x 1-1 sessions and a studio demo. I had both Mike and JP at different times, and they both brought something different to the studio. With their help, I knew what to work on, what my voice was suited to, and very quickly started to improve.
I've now done my demo, and am aiming to start looking for VO work over the next few months, all because of how excellent my experience has been with the team at the Showreel, and the confidence they've given me.
If you want to get into the world of Voice Overs, then look no further than here.

An invaluable chunk of advice from a very passionate VO artist with a lifetime of experience to back him up. The session was extensive, focused, covered a lot of the uncertainties a starting VO worker will struggle with including expectations, requirements and different jobs within the industry. However what was more important than all of that, were the awe moments which came from JPs insights, the rush from working with equipment which for now is beyond the boundaries of my small studio and the inspiration I gained as a result of receiving concrete feedback which in turn, made me believe I can do this. There's a lot waiting for those who walk through these doors. Thank you JP. You rock!

I had a great time on the Intro to Voice Over Workshop in London in mid-December. I was looking for something a bit different which would be fun and might offer practical insight into how to get started as a voice artist and the workshop ticked the right boxes.
JP is great, has lots of experience and really keeps things moving along, which is good because there's a lot to get through - what with the info about different work possibilities, what it takes to be a voice artist and then the practical part; actually having a go at it, being recorded, then getting feedback before having a second go at each text.
A couple of days after the workshop, I got an email with links to my recordings from the session, a wealth of written feedback and some practical advice on how to make further progress - just as promised by JP during the session.
All in all, it was fun, interesting and useful so I'm happy to recommend the workshop.

Open and extremely helpful to help me get better, rather than just being a seen by the company as an opportunity to upsell their services. Looking forward to my next one to one training session.

JP and Mike were great, such a friendly environment and both of them are really knowledgeable. I did the VO workshop and also recorded my demo reel with them and I would definitely recommend. Thank you for all your advice!

I had a 1-2-1 session with JP before my starter demo session with Mike and they were both brilliant. The 1-2-1 session was very professional, efficient and fun and made me feel fully at ease going ahead into my recording session, I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The recording session was again very smooth and fun and I'm very happy with the results. Thank you!
Overall, great service from the Showreel and I will be back for upgrades.

If you’re looking for a quality demo with exceptional service, look no further than The Showreel. After a lot of shopping around, I was lucky to land in safe hands with JP and Mike, the Dynamic Duo!
They take the time to listen to your concerns and answer your questions. I took the brilliant Intro to Voice Over Masterclass with JP and got great performance tips from Mike at my 1-2-1 coaching sessions. I came away with a narration demo I’m really pleased with.
The studio experience was easy and relaxed, which is what you need when you’re a nervous newbie like I was. The narration workshop with Craig was also excellent. He’s a great teacher.
I highly recommend The Showreel. The whole team genuinely care about you and your success!

My two-hour beginner 121 session with JP absolutely flew by. We certainly covered a lot! It was informative, practical and fun. JP's constructive comments and useful tips were delivered in a direct but supportive way. A very enjoyable session. The follow-up notes were great too. Many thanks. Okay, I'm off to do some homework!

I attended the introduction to voice over session. JP was superb, knowing full well how to put us at ease. I gained a ton of knowledge without feeling overwhelmed and the information was nicely mixed with practical script work. I left the session feeling very confident about progressing in the industry and would thoroughly recommend the introduction for anyone looking to take those first steps.

I've been through the Showreel for a couple of workshops, and more recently, to revamp my voice reels.
JP, Mike and Yvonne have all been fantastic to work with. Super friendly team, usually a right laugh, and always delivering top-quality services!
Highly recommend for any VO's out there seeking ongoing development, business planning, or demo reel production.
Thanks again to the team at The Showreel!

So pleased I signed up for the Intro to VO Workshop! JP put us all at ease and shared lots of his knowledge and tips about all things voice-over. It was a brilliant experience and a great opportunity to practice in a professional studio, with written feedback following soon after!

I have been very pleased with my experience with Showreel so far. The training sessions have been helpful and informative, but most of all, fun. From the start it was clear that JP, Mike, and the rest knew all there was to know about VO, but it’s a knowledge lightly borne and gladly shared. Their personal interest in making sure I gave my best shone through everything they did. I hugely enjoyed my visit to the studio, and was delighted with the demo tape Mike made for me. I’m looking forward to a few more sessions on the business side of things, so in summary - highly recommended!

I had a great time at the intro to VO session I had yesterday. It was hard work and so rewarding. The feedback and direction JP gives is brilliant for a newbie like me - very specific and clear. And also, it was just great fun. A very comprehensive introduction to the industry in just 2 hours. I would thoroughly recommend.

Had a brilliant 121 with JP. It was a great session full of constructive feedback, great direction as well as some invaluable pearls of wisdom from his wealth of experience. JP even followed up with an incredibly detailed email with notes from the session and things to work on etc. I've got another 2 sessions booked in and very much looking forward to them.

I had Mike as my demo producer and the whole experience was incredible! I had never been into a professional recording studio before, so was feeling apprehensive beforehand, but Mike made me feel so relaxed and I felt he really brought out my confidence. He has a great ear for tone, melody and rhythm of reading aloud, so his feedback and direction was much appreciated. Will definitely be coming back here for updated voiceover demos!

I've never done any form of performing work so was extremely nervous leading up to the session I had with JP. However, within the first 10 minutes I felt completely relaxed and comfortable. The session was so much fun and I took so much away. Following my session I received detail session notes and a load of homework to work on before my next session. Can not wait for my next session.

I dived in head first, and booked a demo recording session with the Show Reel. I had no previous experience and had never set foot in a recording studio. It was fantastic! I just wanted to get and do it. Mike was great and really, patient and helpful. He gave me so many tips and great advice. I have my demo now and its beyond anything I could imagine. I am now going to look into the Voice Over Journey, perhaps a bit topsy, turvy for some, but for this has been a great way to begin to purse what has been a life long ambition. I can't recommend these guys enough. Thanks Mike and the rest of the Show Reel team, looking forward to seeing you soon.

I worked with The Showreel over a period of 9 months. I attended masterclasses and 1-2-1 vocal sessions, and in the end I recorded a demo reel which sounds fantastic. They are a wonderful company, really friendly, professional and super knowledgable. They always have a top tip up their sleeve. If you're about to embark on a VO journey, they are your travel guides! Highly recommended!

If you are thinking about Voice Over training, then I wholeheartedly recommend investing your time and effort with The Showreel. I opted for the Voice Over Journey Package with JP and it was a wise choice. From the introduction session to the online training, and then when we finally met in person at their London Studios, JP was professional, engaged and offered way more advice and guidance than I’d expected or even hoped for.
JP has a warm, open personality which gave me a safe environment to learn and that ultimately got the best out of me. The experience was fun, and for a novice like myself, that mattered.
In a world where everyone claims to be an expert, and so few are, it was reassuring and refreshing to find myself in safe hands, with people who have the professional experience and knowledge to offer proper training.
My advice is simple; Invest your time, listen to what they have to say, allow them to guide you, and the results will amaze you.

I recently had my 1st session with JP. Loved it. JP was/is amazing! Such a professional, passionate about the profession & incredibly knowledgable too! I kept comparing myself negatively to him and he immediately helped me gain confidence and put the focus back on me. There's been so much before and after care too. I loved tha JP emailed my feedback the same day. I've been following up on it as homework. I can't wait to go back for my next 1 to 1 session at the studio. Thanks so much JP. Best wishes Aileen

JP was Orr-some (pardon the pun); communication was great from first contact and in fact he rang me back ahead of the call I'd booked. On the day of my intro session he didn't waste any time getting me into the sound booth, then spent quite a while explaining things and generally putting me at my ease. The time flew by. I had great fun and, with his direction, really felt that I made good progress. Encouraging (& honest!) feedback was waiting for me by the time I got home. Love the feel of those earphones and look forward to being in front of the microphone again. Can hardly wait!

I did the VO Journey package at the Showreel and I couldn't recommend it enough.
I had the pleasure of working with both JP and Mike who were both wonderfully personable and exceptionally professional. They shared their wealth of knowledge from their years of experience in the voice over industry and it was invaluable.
This learning and training resulted in me recording a agent demo reel which I am incredibly happy with. It really came out well.

I've just had my first coaching session - the Intro to Voice Over Masterclass. And, I can tell you, it was way beyond my expectation.
We packed masses into the two hours. Seated in my own studio, there was a briefing on the voice-over industry and the different opportunities. I was given a short lesson on what was expected of me. And then I was straight into trying out some scripts.
JP Orr is very experienced and a great coach. I can already see that he can draw out out higher performance from his clients. So, I learnt a lot and I enjoyed it.
It was that good I actually want to get on with the homework.......

I have not done any voice-over work before, so I booked an "Intro to Voice Over Workshop" and I have to admit... my expectations were put to shame at how amazing this experience was. I'm super glad I did this, JP explained everything to me very thoroughly, and I had a really good time! Now I know what I must do next, and I've received a LOT of information to help me go forward.
Thank you for existing!

Great experience and I came out of it with my first set of demo reels. Expensive, but no higher than the proper market rate, and these guys really know what they're doing. Fully pro studio in London to record your demo, great direction, and a full support package in terms of training and script preparation. I was really impressed. They were also really aware of COVI-19 restrictions, and careful to comply so that I felt safe at all points.

I had a great experience in my Intro to VO session. JP is a great teacher with a wealth of experience and knowledge on the industry (past, present and future). He’s also incredibly entertaining and puts you completely at ease. I was smiling pretty much the entire 2 hours.
The workshop covers a lot of information and is very hands-on with a variety of scripts. I went in with zero experience and left with a good overview on voice over + more confidence and understanding of my own voice.
